Classroom Helper
A classroom helper would come on a Tuesday during "Specials" time (1:30-2:00, even though specials time is a little different), to do whatever may be needed to help our class run smoothly and efficiently. Some task examples are sharpening pencils, filing books, stapling books, running copies, laminating, cutting out laminating, and/or assembling class books.

Mystery Reader
A mystery reader chooses books to bring in and read to the students for fifteen minutes; from 8am-8:15am on Friday mornings. We keep our reader's name a secret until you show up. Mystery readers can be extended family, for example, visiting grandparents. Some parents like to sign up around their child's birthday as a birthday surprise.

Thursday Paper Helper
We are really going to need these helpers as we do not have a special assigned every Thursday... The Thursday paper volunteers come to school on Thursday any time between 11:00am and 12:30pm to assemble all of the papers from the office into the designated "Thursday Papers" folder. He or she stops by the front desk on the way in to accept any papers that may still be in my mailbox. Then he/she gets the folders and any additional papers from the classroom and assembles the folders. It should generally take about 15 minutes. This is a quick way to support us and it really helps a lot!

Kindergarten News Typist
The Kindergarten News Typist would get the newspapers sent home in a folder to him/her. He/she would type them up using the format that Ms. Scaccia sends, and then sends the papers back to school. I do ask that I get a copy sent to me every time the file gets updated so that we always have an "extra" copy... learned I should do that the hard way one year.

Zero the Hero Helper
A "Zero Helper" will purchase, organize, and deliver zero treats to the school on designated dates. The kindergarten team decided that it is best for all students to get the same thing, so rather than have a parent deliver enough treats for just one class every ten school days (16 or so dates), parents are asked to deliver enough treats for the whole grade level (about 125 treats), but only three-four times during the school year. We provide you with little brown lunch bags to put the treats in for each class. Please click on the "hero" picture below (with the month names) for the dates to sign up. |
